Overview
Half Thread Bolt
Hex bolts with partial threading where only a portion of the shank is threaded, leaving a smooth unthreaded grip section beneath the head. The unthreaded shank bears the shear load while the threaded portion handles clamping — making it ideal for joints where bolts pass through multiple plates or timber connections. Available in grades 4.6 to 10.9 in black, zinc-plated, and HDG finishes to IS 1364 and DIN 931 standards.
Key Features & Benefits
- Smooth unthreaded shank absorbs shear loads effectively
- Threaded end provides secure clamping force
- Ideal for multi-plate and timber through-bolt connections
- Prevents bolt from being over-engaged in thin material
- Available in grades 4.6 to 10.9 for varied load requirements
- HDG finish for outdoor structural and tower applications
- Custom shank and thread lengths manufactured on request
- Bulk supply with material test certificates available
01
Smooth unthreaded shank aligns inside the shearing plane for increased joint strength.
02
Ideal for structural columns, load-bearing frames, and flange joints.
03
Reduces structural stress concentration inside the bolt threads.
